Make Fabric Butterflies – January Club Night

Are you a fan of The Great British Sewing Bee?

Did you see the episode a couple of series back, where one of the challenges involved ‘fabric origami’?  (In other words, folding and manipulating the fabric to make a 3D effect)

We’re going to have a go at this in January and February.

We’re going to start simply, with fabric butterflies.

These are eye-catching and fun to do – and a great way to use up fabric scraps!  They can be used as decorations in all sorts of ways, from mobiles to decoration on clothing and bags, and lots of other ways.

There’s not a lot of sewing involved, so they’re great for beginner sewers, and they’re fairly quick to make, so we should be able to make a few during our club session on January 20th.  We’ll meet on Zoom, as per usual.

At the moment, I’m thinking we’ll have a go at cathedral windows in February, but I’ll talk to members on 20th, so I won’t include a 2-month option this time.

This is a gentle start to our sewing year, and it’s also a fairly cheap start at £12 for a box, £6 just to come along and provide your own materials.  Sign up below:

If you’d like to come along but provide your own materials, or if you have any questions, please email me at janet@fabricstash.biz.

See you on January 20th.
